Whirlpool launches ‘Destroyer World Series’- the path breaking Water Purifier

Introduces the revolutionary Electro-Adsorption Technology (EAT)
For Uncompromised Purity

Mumbai, December 15, 2015: Whirlpool of India, a subsidiary of Whirlpool Corporation, the world’s leading manufacturer and marketer of major home appliances unveils its latest path breaking water Purifier, ‘Destroyer’ armed with Electro-adsorption technology.

Destroyer water purifier is a 5-stage filtration system comprising of an external pre-filter and the unique ‘EAT Filter’ which gives you the power of 4-filters in one. It eliminates most of  the harmful impurities like microorganisms, organic & chemical impurities and heavy metals while retaining essential minerals – unlike any other water purifier!

 Destroyer:  Quick Facts:

Tank Capacity: 6 liters

Stages of filtration: 5 stage (Pre-filter + 4 in 1 EAT filter)

Life of EAT filter: 8-9 months

Life of Pre-filter: 3-4 months

Flow rate: 0.8 - 1 LPM (4 times RO Flow rate)

MRP: Rs. 7990/-

Destroyer is the first product to deliver high filtration efficiency even at low pressure and does not require electricity. Further, unlike other water purifiers, the revolutionary Destroyer does not waste any water and is self serviceable.

Speaking on the launch, Mr. Rajiv Kapur, Vice President Consumer Interface and New Businesses, Whirlpool of India said, “The technology used in Destroyer is unique and first of its kind in India, and is ideal for water conditions that prevail in most parts of India, where high TDS is not the main issue but bacteria and impurities are. An RO is therefore an over-kill, The new Destroyer has a 5-stage filtration system like ROs but does not waste water like RO’s, has a flow fate that is 3 times better than RO, functions even in low water pressure conditions and does not require electricity. It is also priced much lower than an RO. That’s why  Destroyer is smarter than RO”

Non Electric Operation

No Water wastage

Retains Essential minerals

Self serviceable twist-tech filter

Works even in low water pressure

The importance of using a right water purifier is extremely important. According to a report by WHO*, “not only does completely demineralised water (distillate) have unsatisfactory organoleptic properties, but it also has a definite adverse influence on the animal and human organism”. An RO removes 90% of minerals and if used where TDS levels are <500 ppm, it will lead to water conditions as described above. The possible adverse consequences of consuming low mineral content water could affect “intestinal mucous membrane, metabolism and mineral homeostasis or other body functions. It also states that there might be loss of calcium, magnesium and other essential elements in prepared food.

Whirlpool is looking at strengthening its position in Water Purifiers by launching Destroyer with EAT which is a far superior technology than UV and priced much lower than RO’s. The company also markets RO’s for areas with high TDS and intends to expand its range with more innovative products.
