PARAMOUNT PICTURES AND GK FILMS’ ANNOUNCE PRINCIPAL PHOTOGRAPHY ON “ALLIED”

HOLLYWOOD, CA (April 19, 2016) – Principal photography is underway on Paramount Pictures and GK Films’ “ALLIED,” starring Academy Award®-nominee Brad Pitt (“FURY,” “WORLD WAR Z”) and Academy Award®-winner Marion Cotillard (“THE DARK KNIGHT RISES,” “LA VIE EN ROSE”). The film is directed by Academy Award®-winning director Robert Zemeckis (“THE WALK,” “FORREST GUMP”).

It is shooting in London, with production also taking place in the Canary Islands.

The romantic thriller features an original story written by Steven Knight (“THE HUNDRED-FOOT JOURNEY,” “DIRTY PRETTY THINGS”). Graham King (“RANGO,” “THE DEPARTED”), Zemeckis, and Steve Starkey (“FLIGHT,” “REAL STEEL”) are producing. Denis O’Sullivan (“THE 5th WAVE,” “THE YOUNG VICTORIA”), Jack Rapke (“FLIGHT,” “REAL STEEL”), Jackie Levine (“THE WALK”), Patrick McCormick (“BLACK MASS”), and Knight are serving as executive producers.

“ALLIED” is the story of intelligence officer Max Vatan (Pitt), who in 1942 North Africa encounters French Resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour (Cotillard) on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Reunited in London, their relationship is threatened by the extreme pressures of the war.

The film will be released on November 23, 2016.
Joining Pitt and Cotillard are Jared Harris (“LINCOLN,” “MAD MEN”), Lizzy Caplan (“Masters of Sex,” “NOW YOU SEE ME 2”), and Matthew Goode (“Downton Abbey,” “THE IMITATION GAME”)
