Mithibai’s Paparazzi celebrated the joy of giving with more than 150 orphans

Mumbai, Maharashtra, 14th August, 2016: On the eve of Independence Day i.e. 14th August, nearly 150 children belonging to Snehasadan, an orphanage in Andheri East couldn’t hold their happiness as students of Mithibai Colleges’ Media Festival ‘Paparazzi’ gave out hundreds of books, clothes, bags, shoes and other stationery items. Their days were brightened as a number of games and activities were held in the spirit of celebrating Independence Day.

More than 15 students associated with Paparazzi visited Snehasadan, at around 4:30 pm, with their hands full of gifts and chocolates. The event started off on a game where children were given a situation, and told to act in a contradictory manner. This was followed by an exciting round of KhoKho/Dodgeball/Football and the winners of both the activities were gifted chocolates or presents. Lastly, the even concluded on a patriotic note, when children were asked about that one thing they would like to do in celebration of India’s 67th Independence Day.

“Aap log aate  hai, hamare saath khelte hai, bada accha lagta hai. College ke experiences share karte  hai, kuch seekhne  ko milta  hai.” says Annie, the caretaker at Snehasadan.

When asked about the success of the event, the Principal of Mithibai College, Dr. Rajpal Shripat Hande says, “It is overwhelming to witness the young generation getting involved in such acts that make the society a better place. They’re impacting the lives of several children here. Indeed, I’m very proud of Team Paparazzi for carrying out the initiative.”

Paparazzi’s three week long CSR initiative came to an end this Sunday. The first week included the distribution of food to more than 250 underprivileged people of Andheri and Vile Parle. In the second week, students celebrated Friendship Day with more than 200 senior citizens belonging of Cardinal Gracias Destitutes Home and Assisi Bhavan. Both the initiatives turned out extremely successful.

The Paparazzi team has been active with their social endeavors. Earlier in July, the students had organized a street play titled ‘Anna Apoorna’, about the wastage of food at Juhu beach and Carter road which was witnessed by more than 500 people. They also helped in this years’ Degree College admission process by installing admission kits in classrooms. These kits comprised of all the necessary stationery items like pens, pencils, staplers, erasers, etc. Bottles of water were also distributed by them to all teachers, students and parents involved in the admissions of the Unaided Courses.
