CAIT AND TALLY HAVE THE SAME GOAL, TO SIMPLIFY GST
November 12, 2016
Mumbai, Maharashtra: Confederation of
All India Traders (CAIT) organized an interactive session, sponsored by Tally on
GST: Accounting & Compliance with the help of digital technology. GST
is a comprehensive tax on manufacture, sale, and consumption of goods and
services.
This interactive session is in line
with CAIT’s initiative of generating awareness amongst the trading community on
the technology based taxation system. CAIT’s general secretary Mr. Praveen
Khandelwal wants to ensure and educate the traders on adoption of technology
for successful adoption of GST. Many of
the small traders still do not have computerized trading or accounting and
therefore the need of such a campaign. Mr. Praveen Khandelwal emphasized on the
belief of the President of CAIT, Mr. R. C. Bhartia saying that “Every business
has to focus on three words – Timely, Completely and Correctly – when it comes
to GST compliance” This would ensure a star rating business with whom there
would be other star rated vendors who would want to do business.
The joint initiative of CAIT and
Tally is to provide as much information
to the traders in the smooth functioning of their business. The well-crafted
session ensured that the audience understood the difference between the present
tax laws and GST, importance of computerization in GST era, importance of
maintaining the accounts properly, compliance with GST to make sure that the
business gain advantage in market. The participants went equipped with indepth knowledge on GST and its compliance with
digital technology.
At the end of the seminar, CAIT
President Mr. R. C. Bhartiaji also emphasized on educating the women of the
families in the traders community, with computer technology. The women could
then serve as an additional helping hand to business owners to ensure the data
entry and verification of GST on a day to day basis. Bringing women of
traditional families into mainstream business of their spouses would be a boon
to the small traders, said Mr. Bhartia.
The CAIT-Tally Campaign that
kickstarted on Nov. 09 in Navi Mumbai will now have roadshows throughout the
country reaching out to various Trade Associations, Federations and Chambers
and educating as many non-corporate sectors as possible on the adoption of
technology for GST compliance.
