TEAM ‘STALL NXG’ LIFTS USHA UDAAN 2018 TROPHY

150 players engaged in high-intensity matches for 3 days

India, May 22, 2018: Usha Udaan 2018 Ultimate Flying Disc Tournament concluded on May 20, 2018 with a nail-biting final match between teams ‘Stall7 NxG’ from Chennai and ‘Discotech’ from Hyderabad. ‘Stall7 NxG’ lifted the Usha Udaan 2018 trophy after beating ‘Discotech’ with a final score of 13-8.

Taking forward its commitment to support Ultimate Flying Disc in India, Usha International, one of India’s leading consumer durables company, organized Usha Udaan 2018 in association with Hyderabad Ultimate and Teach for India (TFI). The tournament was the first one in the UPAI’s (Ultimate Players Association of India) annual calendar for 2018.

Hyderabad-based team ‘Malakpet Hill Challengers’, a Teach for India (TFI) team that participated for the first time, shared the Most Spirited Team Award with team ‘West Coast Rascals’ from Mumbai. Teach for India Team ‘Goosebumps’ from Hyderabad also participated in the tournament.

Usha Udaan 2018 was a three-day tournament slated between May 18 & 20, 2018 and took place at Saraswathi Cricket Ground, Gundlapochampalli. A total of 8 teams and 150 players from Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, and Mumbai participated in the tournament.

Speaking at the culmination of the tournament, Ms. Komal Mehra, Events Head, Usha International, said, “Our collaboration with Ultimate in India is a reiteration of our larger effort in promoting an active lifestyle amongst people. What is heartening to see is how the popularity of the game has burgeoned amongst youngsters across the country and I believe that is because the game is class and gender agnostic and needs little by way of infrastructure. Ultimate is perhaps the only sport in which men and women can play together on the same team and is self-refereed by players thus promoting the spirit of the game, efficient communication, coordination, alignment, and team building among the players.
