JLL announces key leadership appointments in Chennai

·         Siva Krishnan to spearhead as Managing Director, Chennai
·         Kanchana Krishnan joins as Head – Markets and Retail, Chennai
·         Jerry Kingsley steps up as Head - Capital Markets, South India and Head - Sri Lanka

Mumbai,May 13, 2019: JLL India today announced key leadership appointments at strategic positions in its Chennai business. Siva Krishnan has been appointed Managing Director, Chennai; Kanchana Krishnan has joined as Head – Markets and Retail, Chennai and Jerry Kingsley has stepped up as Head - Capital Markets, South India and Head - Sri Lanka.

Chennai, a key real estate market in the country, has been an important region for JLL. The Firm has a proven track record of successfully managing some of the city’s landmark real estate transactions over the last 20 years. Lately, the Firm was instrumental in facilitating several large transactions across Office, Capital Markets & Industrial. Some of the notable deals in 2018 were S P Infocity asset sale to Mapletree, Exide Divestment to Olympia Group, large OEM projects in Manufacturing and several large Blue Chip Anchor Office Leasing transactions.

These leadership appointments at the Firm will not only ensure that JLL augments its service capabilities and strengthens its undisputed market leadership, but also continues to be at the forefront of such industry redefining transactions. 

Chennai has discovered increased demand across all asset classes like office, retail, manufacturing, logistics and also holds a promising future for new emerging sectors such as student housing, co living etc. 

Siva Krishnan, Managing Director for Chennai, is an industry veteran with over 21 years of expertise in understanding business models and market dynamics across real estate assets and lifecycles. Siva re-joined JLL in early 2018 and also heads the Firm’s Residential Services, Developer Solutions and Strategic Consulting businessesIn his new role, he will drive all business lines in Chennai, and nurture go-to-market strategies to reinforce the Firm’s capabilities. His innate understanding of India’s real estate space has propelled him to be a member of JLL’s India Leadership Council. He is also credited with founding and developing the B2C residential franchise for two of the largest IPCs in the country. In his earlier roles, Siva was part of CBRE’s Country Leadership, he was instrumental in building JLL’s residential arm and has also worked with HDFC Bank.
Kanchana Krishnan appointed as Head – Markets and Retail, Chennai, will focus on further building successful JLL office leasing business. She will also Head - Landlord Representation at the country level and spearhead the practice by coordinating with other Landlord Representative experts within the firm. A veteran in the Chennai real estate market, Kanchana is highly regarded in the fraternity and has a deep understanding of office, industrial, capital markets, land, project management and facility management. She brings to the Firm 17 years of experience in real estate sector. In her previous assignment, she headed all businesses for Knight Frank in Chennai. She has also worked with DTZ (now Cushman & Wakefield), Equis India (UGL) and Chesterton Meghraj across various businesses.

Jerry Kingsley has taken on the role of Head - Capital Markets, South India and Head – Sri Lanka.
Over the last 13 years with the firm, Jerry has played multiple roles across business lines and asset classes. His multi-disciplinary experience include almost all facets of the real estate brokerage business like Tenant Representation, Developer Representation, Industrial & Warehousing, Investment Sales, Land Divestments, Land Acquisitions, Joint Development Structuring, Capital Markets and Feasibility. Jerry has also set up, expanded and streamlined business lines like Land, Capital Markets and Industrial from ground up into profitable teams with steady revenue growth and as market leaders in Chennai.
