LOTUS SSUTRA BY GITANJLI SAHIJWAALA
The fabulous silver jewellery inspired by the Enlightened One was an ethereal offering on the ramp by Gitanjli Sahijwaala. Just like the Buddha – the “Lotus Ssutra” collection’s exquisite silver beauty will awaken the enlightenment in the wearer. The trio of ornaments was hand crafted with intricate detailing and gems. The “Lotus Ssutra” collection featured stunning chokers, earrings and bracelets that had an almost surreal feel. Eye catchers were the lotus pendant and matching haath phool, draped necklace with kada and a square geometric necklace with lotus motifs and earrings.

DRUZY DZIRE BY SHIMANI AGARWAL
Presenting stylish, trendy, fashionable jewellery with intricate designs; the “Druzy Dzire” collection by Shimani Agarwal; while being contemporary, was also very affordable. A special quality of agates, were uniquely presented in their natural aesthetics, which revealed an almost unfinished and rough treatment. Colours played a major role in the three piece collection as the stones also called Druzy were blended perfectly with traditional jewels. Here was jewellery that was imposing with a dramatic appeal. The necklace-cum-shoulder and arm harness with bold gold chains was for the daring dresser; while the neck to navel multi strands neck piece, haath pool, Maatha Patti and the three- strands long neck piece with a giant centre was a show stopper.

FEATHERS OF PARADISE BY TANYA AJMERA
Feathers were the theme and inspiration of the collection as they appeared in all shapes and sizes to highlight the jewellery. “Feathers of Paradise” was inspired by the age old feathers, which have been symbols of authority and power for kings, priests and chiefs that Tanya Ajmera’s quartet used the inspiration ingeniously to create a magical collection. From pretty fly away earrings to delicate necklaces and ornaments; the daintily crafted jewellery swayed from long, almost invisible gold strings. The feathery ring, beaded necklace, ear cuffs and matching waistband will delight women who want something quite out of the ordinary in their jewel box.

HONEY COMB BY MADHURA BHELKAR
Inspired by the intricate hexagon honey comb and honey bees, Madhura Bhelkar’s “Honey Comb” collection was as impressive and magical as the sweetness of the nectar.  The trio of ornament sets had hexagon shapes that appeared as cut-outs or pieces for necklaces. Shades of black, gold and yellow played a colourful symphony, which was highlighted by the black gowns worn by the models. Tasseled earrings and pendants were eye-catching with precious stones to accentuate them. The lacy intricate cuff, danglers, ring, geometric hexagon hoops and the fabulously designed neckpiece with gems were great ramp entries.

CANDERE COLLECTION BY KARAN AGARWAL
To the melodious strains of flautist Suhas, the three entries could make a memorable grand appearance on the Red Carpet globally as the “Candere Collection” by Karan Agarwal. Skillfully crafted high chokers were embellished with 3D petals as the focal point. Earrings were impressive in their beauty with precious gems encrusting them. Diamonds glittered on gold and the sophistication of the jewels was undoubtedly superb. Glittering diamonds appeared for a waist length Raani Haar, Tikkas, bangles and earrings. The flat collar with tiny emerald tips and the gold encrusted version with emeralds, rubies with matching earrings and bangle were amazingly visualized.
The finale piece was a brilliant amalgamation of craftsmanship that revealed art, tradition and skill in all its beautiful glory, which was worn by the show stopper, Jatalika Malhotra, Miss India 2014, who looked regal in a magnificent one-shoulder draped peacock necklace, grand cummerbund, hair ornament and cluster of assorted bangles.

The varying creations that set the mood of the collections were created by Ishneet Ahluwalia who dreamt up the appropriate styles to highlight the jewellery.

Taking a bow at the end of the fabulous show were the stalwarts of the Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery, Mumbai – Mr. Vasant Mehta Chairman, Mrs. Namita Pandya Convenor and Dr Seema Shah Principal.
