Vikhyati Sanjay
Balihar, 18 years old, a student of St. Francis Collage, Hyderabad, India, has
been chosen as one of 43 winners of a James E. Casey Scholarship , an annual
award presented by The UPS Foundation, the charitable arm of UPS ® (NYSE:UPS).
The scholarships are awarded to children of UPS employees for their outstanding

Expanded internationally in September 2013,
the James E. Casey Scholarship is named after one of the founders of UPS. The
small Seattle, Wash. (U.S) – based messenger service that was started in 1907
has become a global leader in logistics. The scholarship amount is $2,500 USD
annually for up to four years of university study. Winners are determined
through a competition conducted by Scholarship Management Services.
“The UPS Foundation and UPS employees
directed over $104 million in philanthropy and in–kind services, including more
than 2 million hours of volunteer service, to local communities in 2014. We are
proud to continue that spirit of giving supporting the families of our
employees,” said Eduardo Martinez, President of The UPS Foundation. “The James
E. Casey Scholarship is one of the broadest programs in the world…offering
scholarships to UPS employees in over 72 countries.”
Vikhyati, daughter of Sanjay Balihar will
attend St. Francis Collage, Hyderabad, in her first year at the commerce
faculty this year. Her father Sanjay Balihar is employed as Assistant Manager,
Operations, at the UPS Hyderabad.
This is what Vikyathi said soon after
receiving the Scholarship. “I would foremost like to express my sincere
gratitude toward The UPS Foundation for considering me deserving enough to hand
over this prestigious scholarship award. James E.Casey scholarship program is a
great effort to motivate students to work to their full potential.
It
helps them to prove their worth in areas involving scholastic and co-scholastic
parameters, assess their leadership attributes and their voluntary contribution
toward social responsibilities. It includes immense determination on the
student’s part to realize their potential, caliber and capabilities and perform
as a responsible citizen of the country. Words would not be enough to express
what an exhilarating and overwhelming moment it was when I received an e-mail
referring to my selection as the recipient for the award.”
Vikhyati mentioned that after completion of
her graduation she has planned to do her post-graduation in Business
Administration.
Vikyathi stood 1st in her school in XIIth and
was also part of Organizing Team of School Annual Event. During her spare time
she was volunteering with NGO Sweekar Upkar & Smart Kids at Hyderabad.
