Chris Hemsworth talks about his brush with death on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Actor Chris Hemsworth made a shocking revelation on the popular talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! The handsome actor who was present to promote his upcoming film The Hunstman: Winter’s War spoke about his near death experience during the Himalayan trip that he undertook with his wife Elsa Pataky for a travel show. During the trip, the husband-wife duo was ascending the mountains while getting used to the altitude change when this incident took place.
The actor was candid about his brush with death and said, “Basically we went to 2,000 meters and then 3,000 and I slowly, honestly, started to kind of lose my mind.” He told Kimmel that things got worse when they reached at 4000 meters above the sea level and stopped to rest in a tent at night with temperatures below -30 degrees. It was when he returned from the dingy washroom that he experienced heavy breathing and a husky voice that sounded like 'Darth Vader meets Daffy Duck'.
Luckily for him, his wife noticed the aberrant behavior and alerted the guides who took the actor to a lower altitude. He concluded, “But apparently the oxygen was in my lungs, the next stage was oxygen in my brain and then good night - we wouldn't be sitting here," he said. "Everyone else acclimated and for some reason I just couldn't handle it!”
While Chris was saved from permanent injury, he admits that he suffered from altitude depression, prompting Jimmy to say, “You need a new travel agent.”
