Rahul Bose announces his maiden production 'Poorna'

Mumbai, September 17, 2016 : India's art house icon actor Rahul Bose visited K.C. College yesterday to talk about  his new venture into direction with the budding filmmakers of tomorrow.
Bose announced the 'Rahul Bose Production', which has just completed the 15 months of making of  Poorna, his maiden production venture. After his success in the movie ‘Dil Dhadakne do’ Bose has ventured into production of this biopic of a 13-year-old adivasi girl - the youngest girl who climbed the Mount Everest.

"Poorna's achievements are  arguably more than that of a P V Sindhu or Sakshi Mallik. I'm very excited with this project," said Bose.

Talking about the cultural significance of cinema in India, Bose said, " I don't believe I know anything. I think all of you have your opinion to see the influence of cinema on the society," he explained, giving example of how Indian weddings are influenced by mainstream Bollywood cinema right from selecting similar destinations to designing outfits.

While interacting with the young aspirants, Bose gave his insight on the emerging trend of item numbers in Bollywood. Moreover he believed that movies are entertainment and admitted that item numbers merely objectify women to address the predominant male viewer. "We always have men salivating over a semi clad woman," he admitted.

"Cinema is the younger sibling of the society",  he said explaining how it acts as a mirror to the society and follows real incidents. Being a part of the new wave cinema, Bose told students that cinema is not an art but a business.
