Arjun Maini secures points-finishes in both races on his return to Silverstone

The Jenzer driver makes it count at the track where he made his GP3 Debut in 2016

HAAS F1 Development Driver, Arjun Maini found some good form this weekend at Silverstone with a sixth and fifth place finishes in Race 1 and Race 2 respectively. Racing just before the Formula 1 drivers take to the track, the Haas F1 development driver managed to hold onto 5th place despite pressure from teammate Lorandi in the final stages. Arjun is now placed 7th in the Driver’s Championship with 36 points.

Arjun Maini started his race weekend at Silverstone finishing just outside the top 10 in the free practice session on Thursday. The JK Tyre and TVS supported driver qualified 8th in an extremely close session with the top 10 drivers all within 8 hundredth of second off pole. He finished strong after losing a few places at the start, completing Race 1 in 7th before a post-race penalty to Boccolacci saw Arjun gain a position to finish 6th overall.

After all the penalties were applied, Arjun was set to start Race 2 in P3 on account of the reverse-grid rule. Arjun who was recently associated with Baseline Ventures, started off well, but dropped a few places in the middle of the race before good defensive driving at the closing stages ensured he warded off pressure from teammate Lorandi to take 5th place in the sprint race.
