GTDC to organize special tour for Tripurari Purnima on Thursday ,22nd November 2018

Panjim, November 20: Goa Tourism Development Corporation is organizing a special tour to Vithalpur, Sanquelim on the occasion of Tripurari Purnima (Boat Festival) on Thursday ,22nd November  2018 .

Tripurari Poornima  will be organised at  Vithalapur Sanquelim  jointly by Goa Tourism Development Corporation, Department of Art and Culture,  Department of Tourism, and Department of Information and Publicity.
This festival has an interesting story behind it and is celebrated to mark the end of the Diwali season.

It is celebrated in a very unique way. The tradition takes the form of a very unusual competition - that of making miniature model boats and ships with a  spectacular boat show  that attracts  both locals and tourists. Besides the main boat competition, there are a host of cultural programmes  along with a display of fireworks.

The special tour on Tripurari Purnima is open to all locals and tourists. Tickets are prices at Rs.100/- per person. Children above 6 years and below 12 years will  be charged Rs.50/-.
GTDC Coach service will leave Santa Monica Jetty, Panaji at 8.00pm and Mapusa Residency at 8.30 pm and will proceed to Vithalapur ,Sanquelim.

7:00 pm: Procession of Lord Shrikrishna
7:30 pm: Sailing of Lamps in river Valvanti
8:00 pm: Cultural Programme
10:30 pm: Palkhi procession of Shree Vithal Rakhumai
10:30 pm-12.00 Midnight: Traditional Boat Show
11.00 pm: Tripurasur-Vadh
11:05 pm: Release of ‘Saranga’ balloon in the sky
11:15pm: Fireworks

The Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra Circle, Mumbai will be holding the 53rd Postal Pension Adalat for pensioners/family pensioners of Postal Department on 29th Sept 2023 at 11.00 Hrs, in the Office of Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra Circle, Mumbai -400 001.
