93.5 RED FM presents “Mumbai Ke Asli Heroes: Season 2”
Mumbai, 27th October, 2015:- Following an overwhelming response and goodwill for their ‘Mumbai ke Asli Heroes’ campaign last year, 93.5 RED FM is back with Season 2 of this initiative. The first season recognised groups of people who are essential to keeping Mumbai running 24x7; viz. dabbawalas, motormen of local trains, doctors, etc. Whereas, this time the focus is on individuals who are selflessly making a change to the city’s social fabric.
Would you consider letting go a very promising career to do social work? Well, Prince Tiwari did. A Chartered Accountant (CA) by qualification, Prince has been teaching street children under Thakur Bridge in Kandivali East, Mumbai. He gave up a lucrative job offer, and set up his own NGO named Teresa the Ocean of Humanity Foundation. With 24 kids five years back, the foundation is has now enrolled 73 kids to school.
93.5 RED FM’s RJ Rishi Kapoor featured Prince and some of his kids at 93.5 RED FM studio on Friday 23rd Oct, 2015.
Speaking on the occasion, RJ Rishi Kapoor said, “Almost everyone runs after material gains these days, but rare individuals like Prince are a refreshing change, and indeed making a difference to the city! I am even more amazed to see how he could think so maturely at the age of just 22 years.”
Prince Tiwari, for whom the 93.5 RED FM call and recognition came as a surprise, said, “From my childhood, I had this urge to do something different with my life. I never got attracted to materialistic things or a lavish lifestyle. Hence, I felt the education I received was best utilized by sharing it with those who are not so privileged. Over the years I have become emotionally attached to these lovely kids, and my only wish is to see them successful in life. I am really grateful to 93.5 RED FM for the honour of ‘Mumbai Ke Asli Heroes’ and to my kids for giving me a chance to be one.”
