Mumbai,  February 28, 2020   – India continues to buck the trend as proptech funding grew nearly 17 times from USD 3.4 million in 2018 to USD 56.8 million in 2019. This is despite the fact that after reaching a high of more than USD 1 billion in disclosed funding in 2018, property technology – or proptech – start-ups in Asia Pacific saw their funding decline by 38.4% in 2019. “The tech community of India has produced some of the most innovative solutions in different industries. The brand also led the list in 2018, 2015 and 2013 reports as well. Technology giant Apple takes the 2 nd  place up one rank from last year, having climbed steadily over the years from rank 290 in 2015 to the exalted place this year. Farmers likely to suffer on production losses Prices may go up due to lower supplies Hyderabad,  26 February 2020 :  The Indian Oil Palm farmers are likely to be suffered by low yields this year as a result of a deadly invasive pest called Rugose Spiralling Whitefly (RSW) which is rapidly infecting the Oil Palm plantations across the major crop areas in Southern States –the region accounts for about 70% of the total production in the country. The pest, which was noticed above the permissible Economic Threshold Level (ETL) in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Telangana, is a major cause of concern for the Ministry of Agriculture as this dangerous species can damage plants and significantly reduce yield. Scientifically called as Aleurodicus rugioperculatus Martin (RSW), the disruptive pest has already infected several thousands of acres of Oil Palm plantations.
