Mumbai, August 23. 2016:   The IMC’s Ladies’ Wing celebrates its Golden Juiblee this year, and presents their much awaited Women Entrepreneurs’ (WE) Exhibition, on August 23-24, at the Dome @ NSCI in Mumbai. 

The two-day exhibition has created a distinguished name for itself as a coveted shopping destination, patronised by Mumbai's elite, with an enviable melange of products that range from lifestyle and fashion to food and more. In keeping with the IMC's mission to provide relevant platforms for creativity and enterprise in women the exhibition will see 195 skilled women from across the country, who do not have a retail presence, showing exclusively designed apparel and bespoke jewellery, lifestyle, personal care, gourmet, home décor products and much more.

In order to further the interests of women entrepreneurs, this year the IMC is focusing on creating specific B2B networking opportunities for the participants, for instance having time slots for multi-designer store owners to preview participant's collections collections before the exhibition opens to the public to set up future business opportunities. Another focus of the exhibition is "Gen-Next" which aims to promote talent in the group of women who are under 30.  

A mobile app has been specially curated for the exhibition to help exhibition guests locate stalls beforehand. 

Actress, Sonam Kapoor, says, “The IMC is in its Golden Jubilee Year and this exhibition is a wonderful example of their consistent effort over the years, to bring to the fore the tremendous talent and skill of Indian women. I am happy to be here to officially open the exhibition.”

The event has always drawn support from celebrities from all walks of life. This year the exhibition will be opened by Bollywood Actress, Sonam Kapoor. She is joined by the illustrious Australian swimmer, winner of 3 Olympic Gold Medals, Stephanie Rice. Other illustrious dignitaries who will be attending are Pinky Reddy, Rashmi Thackrey, Reshma-Suleiman Merchant, Kanika Kapoor, Bhagyashree, Juhi Chawla, Shaina NC, and many others.   

Stephanie Rice, who has been a well-known proponent of women's causes, says, “I have always supported women empowerment and every effort that helps to showcase their unique talents, whether it's an athlete, an entrepreneur or an artist. I am honoured to be here at the IMC Ladies’ Wing Women Entrepreneur exhibition and support and encourage this noble effort.” 

President, Radhika Nath, says, “This year is about empowering women to make the most of their opportunities. It’s about inspiring women to believe in themselves and to give form to their dreams.

Guest of Honour, Pinky Reddy states, “I know IMC Ladies Wing is one of the first organisation to bring in the concept of Women Entrepreneur Exhibition in Mumbai. In fact it used to be the only huge exhibition I had attended earlier and have only seen it evolve every year.”

Co-chair Kaushika Hemdev, adds, "We are delighted with the response to the exhibition. There are many events in the city but the attendance at our opening shows the niche that IMC has created in terms of its work and it arises from our purpose of promoting the immense talent of women entrepreneurs."
