Mandira Bedi Awarded Health Icon of The Year
· Mandira Bedi was chosen for the award among hundreds of names of celebrities presented to the jury members of the 4th Edition of India Health & Wellness Summit And Awards.
· Bhamashah Swasthya Beema Yojana, Government Of Rajasthan, won the Gold award under the category of ‘Public Health Initiative Of The Year (Non-profit Organisation)’. United Nations Development Programme-India won the Silver under the same category.
· mMitra, Johnson & Johnson was given Gold award under the category ‘Public Health Initiative Of The Year(For Profit Organisation). LivPositive, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories was given Silver under the same category.
New Delhi, 21st December 2017: Mrs Mandira Bedi, known actress, model and television presenter, has been awarded ‘Health Icon Of The Year Award’ at India Health & Wellness Summit And Awards held in the Capital on Thursday in association with Venkateswara Hospitals.
Mrs Bedi was chosen for her focus on health and exercising and her ability to keep her body in good shape for a considerable time now. She was chosen among hundreds of names of celebrities presented to the jury members of India Health & Wellness Summit And Awards.
“It was in 2009 that I was invited to a stunt based television programme as a guest and I thought if I don’t keep myself healthy and fit, I better not go to the programme. That instance initiated me to a very good fitness regime which I have been following vehemently. I exercise 4-5 times every week. I thank the team of India Health & Wellness Summit And Awards for bringing awareness about health in the society” said Mrs Mandira Bedi while receiving the award.
The 4th edition of the annual India Health & Wellness Summit And Awards was held at Hotel Shangri-La on which was attended by healthcare practitioners, industry stalwarts, bureaucrats, NGOs, and innovators.
Speaking at the event, Miss Gunjan Sinha, Operational Director, Venkateshwara Hospital said, “The need of the hour is greater awareness about wellness. We all need to be taking care of our health. Unfortunately, there is a huge jump in non-communicable diseases an others in the country. This needs to be altered”.
Mrs Bedi was selected by eminent jury members comprising who’s who of the healthcare and beauty industries in the country like All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Director Dr Randeep Guleria, Dr Blossom Kochhar, a global recognized beauty and wellness expert and Chairperson-Blossom Kochhar Group, Mr Anshu Gupta, Founder Goonj (NGO), Mr Sukanti Ghosh, Managing Director APCO Worldwide, Dr Minnnie Bodhanwala, CEO, Wadia Hospital, Mr Sandeep Dikshit, MP and Founder Sanket, Dr Prashant Jha, Founder Editor BMJ Innovations, Dr Gayatri Mahindroo, Director NABH, Miss Kavita Narayan, National Health Cell, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Dr Sanjay Sarin, Head, FIND India, Dr Viral Kamdar, President Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Institute of Medical Sciences And Human Resources and Dr Prashant Jha, CEO, HSSC.

mMitra is an mobile Health initiative that connects medical experts to expectant mothers through mobile technology.
LivPositive is an initiative that works with Hepatitis B patients on treatment adherence and counselling.
Max Bike Responder, Max Healthcare Institute Limited was awarded Gold under the category ‘Health Innovation Of the Year’. Health Set Go was awards Silver under the same category.
Healthbuds was awarded Gold under the category of ‘Health Start-Up Of The Year’. Pee Safe was given Solver under the same category.
Miss Priya Prakash of Health Set Go was given Gold under the category Health Entrepreneur Of The Year. Mr Swadeep Srivastava of India Virtual Hospital was awarded Silver under the same category.
Speaking earlier in the day on the need to protect the environment, Mr Suyash Gupta, Director General, Indian Auto LPG Coalition (IAC) said, “If all cars in the country are electric ones, then we will be emitting more CO2 since most of the current power produced in the country is produced by burning fossil fuel”
The Summit works as a catalyst, as it conceives and deliberates on possible answers to the growing challenges faced by the billion plus population of our country in leading a health life.
