Aman Dahiya stuns top seeded Vishesh Patel to book spot in the semi-finals in the U-14 Singles Draw, at the first IIFL Wealth U-14 ATF Tournament

Aman  also seals a finals spot in the  U-14 Doubles Draw

New Delhi, 25th January 2018: Top seeded Vishesh Patel, was today blanked by his doubles partner, unseeded Aman Dahiya, 6-2,6-0 in the quarter finals of the singles main boys draw in the first IIFL Wealth U-14 ATF Tournament on Thursday. Aman will now face S Jhoje who entered the main draw at the first IIFL Wealth U-14 ATF Tournament through the qualifiers. 

In the bottom half of the draw of the singles boys draw, Ayushaan Arjeria who has had an easy run through to the quarterfinals was taken to three sets today by fellow qualifier Ajay Singh, eventually earning his semi-finals spot with a 5-7,6-4,6-1 win over Ajay. Ayushmaan will now face the only seeded player left in the main draw, second seeded Chirag Duhan.

In the singles Main Draw of the girls, the top seeds continued their domination of the draw, with top seeded S Sirimalla clinching her semifinals spot with a dominating performance over eight seeded V Prapurna, 6-0,6-2. Sirimalla will now meet third seed V Adkar in the semi-finals. 

Renne Singla ranked 472 on the Asian Circuit has had a dream run to date, with her first round game ending with her opponent retiring followed by two comfortable wins, a second round win against R Poka, 6-2,6-2 and quarterfinals win against Pavitra Parikh 6-0-6-1. Renne meets Shruti Ahlawat in the semifinals who is currently ranked 242 on the Asian Circuit. 

Aman Dahiya, continued his winning run at the tournament, sealing a Doubles Final spot with opponent and partner Vishesh Patel. Aman who entered the draw with Vishesh, unseeded ,defeated top seeded Chirag Duhan and Arjun Gohan 6-1,6-4 to secure their finals berth. They will face American team of Aayush Bhat and Siddharth Reddy Vaada in the finals. The only Americans in the draw, Aayush and Siddharth, had defeated fourth seed, A Arejeria and H Gummuluru in the quarterfinals 6-1,7-5 and followed it with a win against Sukhpreet Singh Jhoje and Ajay Singh, 6-0,6-3 in the semifinals to set up their finals encounter.

The other top seeds in the Doubles Draw also had a tough time at the tournament, with second seeded Garv Bahl and Rushikesh Sunkara losing their quarterfinals game 6-0,6-1 to Harisharan Baskaran and R. Surapaneni, third seeded Vishal Prakash and Shine Tokas couldn’t get past first round losing in two sets, 6-2, 7-6(2) to wild card entries Dhananjay Atreya and Manas Dhamne.

Entry to the finals of the First IIFL Wealth  U-14 ATF Tournament.

The finals, the Girls & Boys Singles, is scheduled to commence at 11:00 AM on Saturday, 28th January at the RK Khanna Tennis Stadium.

Entry will be limited to 500 seats strictly based on first come, first serve basis.
