The inaugural day of Mahapex-2025 will celebrate Maharashtra's rich and diverse history. The day will be marked by exhibits, discussions, and presentations that spotlight the state's historical landmarks, cultural evolution, and the contributions of its famous kings, saints, and reformers. The event aims to preserve and promote understanding of Maharashtra's ancient traditions, historical milestones, and its journey toward modernity

The inaugural day of Mahapex 2025 marked a momentous occasion in the philatelic history of Maharashtra, commencing with a warm welcome address by Shri Amitabh Singh, Chief Postmaster General of Maharashtra and Goa Circle. The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Hon'ble Governor Shri C P Radhakrishnan, Shri Vijay Kalantri, Chairman of World Trade Centre Mumbai, Shri Manik Shah, Director of Manik Shah Group, and Smt. Bhavna Ray, Associate Vice President, Times of India, Mumbai.

A significant highlight of the ceremony was the unveiling of the Mahapex Logo by Hon'ble Governor Shri C P Radhakrishnan. The logo, featuring Rajmudra outline Warli Folk Art, was expertly designed by Smt. Veena Gujar, a talented staff member of the Department of Posts. The Governor also released several commemorative items, including a Customized My Stamp honoring the Centennial of Philanthropist Late Shri Mulchand G. Shah. This touching tribute particularly moved Shri Manik Shah, son of the late philanthropist, who expressed profound gratitude to the Postal Department for memorializing his father's legacy. Additional releases included the PCC Pandav Leni, Nashik, along with special postcards and covers featuring the Braille Script, Dak Seva E-Bicycle Expedition, and World Trade Centre.

The event was further elevated by an address from Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, Minister of Communications, who eloquently described Mahapex 2025 as a grand celebration of philately that showcases India's rich history and cultural diversity. He emphasized how philately serves as a keeper of historical moments and highlighted India Post's crucial role in connecting people across the nation, describing the event as a bridge between India's Amritkal and Shatabdikal.

In his keynote address, Hon'ble Governor Shri C P Radhakrishnan lauded the Department of Posts for its inclusive service delivery that transcends barriers of caste, religion, and income. He particularly commended the dedication of postal staff in serving illiterate citizens and highlighted India Post's distinction as the world's largest postal network. The Governor noted the department's remarkable evolution from traditional mail delivery to modern banking services, and praised the educational value of the Mahapex exhibition's 500 frames, each narrating unique stories of India's heritage. The event concluded with the Governor's official declaration opening Mahapex 2025, setting the stage for this significant philatelic celebration.

On the first  day of Mahapex 2025, an engaging series of activities has been meticulously planned to cater to diverse audiences and promote philatelic appreciation. The morning session features an On-the-Spot Letter Writing Competition, where participants will share their personal experiences and impressions of the philatelic exhibition. A highlight of the morning program is a specially curated workshop for Divyang (differently-abled) participants. This inclusive initiative demonstrates Mahapex's commitment to making philately accessible to all, providing a supportive environment for differently-abled enthusiasts to explore and engage with stamp collecting.

The afternoon session will feature an insightful workshop titled "How to Win a Gold Medal in a Philatelic Exhibition." This comprehensive session will offer valuable guidance and expert strategies for philatelists aspiring to excel in competitive exhibitions.

These carefully planned activities embody Mahapex-2025's mission to inspire, educate, and engage participants while showcasing Maharashtra's rich cultural heritage through the lens of philately. The day's program reflects the exhibition's dedication to fostering both inclusivity and excellence in the philatelic community.
