Award function for National Level ‘Dhai Akhar’ Letter writing Competition - 2025-26 & Philately scholarship scheme “Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana” 2025-26

  1. Description of the Scheme :- Dhai Akhar is a National Level Letter Writing Competition on a theme/ subject decided by Department of Posts for the citizens of India  to re-introduce the younger generations to post and philately while encouraging creativity, originality, and self-expression. It is also a platform for individuals to display their writing skills and talent. 


  1. Periodicity:  08.09.2025 to 31.01.2026.

  2. Topic: “Letter to My Role Model”

  3. Language: The letter can be written in English, Hindi or any Vernacular language.

  4. Categories:  The competition will be in the following 4 categories: 

(i) Up to 18 years:   (a) Inland Letter Card Category 

       (b) Envelope Category 

(ii) Above 18 years: (a) Inland Letter Card Category 

         (b) Envelope Category

Entries of 3 winners of each category (12 in all) chosen at Circle level will be sent to the Directorate for further evaluation at the National Level.

  1. Prize:-  The prize money to be given to the winners of Circle Level and National Level Letters in each category is as follows: 

Prize to be given to the winners in each Category at Circle Level: 

  1. First Prize in each Category ₹ 25,000/- 

  2. Second Prize in each Category ₹ 10,000/- 

  3. Third Prize in each Category ₹ 5,000/- 

Prize to be given in each Category at National Level: 

  1. First Prize in each Category ₹ 50,000/- 

  2. Second Prize in each Category ₹ 25,000/- 

  3. Third Prize in each Category ₹10,000/- 

Total No. of Participants in Maharashtra Circle :- 1,83,049. 

Circle Level Result of the competition is being declared on 19.02.2026



Philately scholarship scheme “Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana” 2025-26


Description of the Scheme: - PAN India scholarship program called Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana was launched by Department of Posts in year 2017-18. The program aims to promote Philately among children at a young age in a sustainable manner that can reinforce and supplement the academic curriculum in addition to providing a hobby that can help them relax and de-stress.

This year the SPARSH Yojana was conducted from 1st August 2025 for students studying in class VI – IX in recognised schools. Selected students will be eligible for scholarship of ₹ 6000/- per annum. 

Under this scheme total 3,570 students appeared for Philately Quiz. After scrutiny of the answer sheets of the Philately Quiz, 215 Students were shortlisted for submission of project.

10 students from each category i.e.  Std VI, VII, VIII, IX (Total 40 students) are selected for Philately Scholarship “Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana” for the year 2025-26.  Final result has been published on India Post website on 1st December, 2025.


Shri Amitabh Singh, Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra Circle will felicitate the winners.
