SBI PINKATHON Mumbai'15 powered by women's Horlicks is organised special training run with the visually impaired girls.
Mumbai, November 30,2015:Mumbai is
gearing up for its 4thedition of India’s biggest women’s run the SBI
Pinkathon -Empowering Indian Women powered by Women Horlicks. Pinkathon
has always received
a huge response from thecity. As a pre cursor to the main event,Pinkathon
hosted the training for visually impairedgirls this weeked.
In the 4th edition of SBI PinkathonMumbai, a team of visually impaired girls would be
participating in 5KM run. To prepare them for
the main day, unique training sessions was conducted at Scout Hall Shivaji Park, Dadar. In this run session a sighted runner
volunteer ran alongside with every visually impaired participant. This activity not only boosted the
confidence of visually impaired girls but it was anact of pillar of support for
them.
Pinkathon
is India Biggest Women’s run created with the specific purpose of getting more
women to adopt a fitter lifestyle for themselves and their families and to
highlight the need for increased awareness about breast cancer. In the last
year Pinkathon was held across 6 cities with over 50000 women participating. Pinkathon has donated more than Rs. 45 Lacs
so far towards treatment of underprivileged women with cancer and has
facilitated, through various partners, free breast screenings for thousands of
women.
