DREAM CRUISES WELCOMES ITS FIRST GUESTS ON BOARD GENTING DREAM IN MUMBAI

Dream, the inaugural ship of Dream Cruises arrives at the Mumbai Port for the
first time on its relocation voyage today.
The inaugural cruise ceremony was celebrated
by dignitaries from the government and industry, including Honourable Shri.
Devendra Fadnavis – The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Honourable Shri. Nitin
Gadkari – The Union Minister of Shipping and Road Transport, Honourable Shri.
Swadhin Kshatriya – Chief Secretary, Government of Maharashtra and Honourable Shri.
Sanjay Bhatia - Chairman of Mumbai Port Trust, as well as trade partners and
media.
A traditional Indian “Lighting the Lamp”
ceremony was performed by distinguished guests from the Government and Dream
Cruises to kick-off the inaugural ceremony in the most auspicious manner.
Guests were regaled by festive performances
at the Mumbai Port before boarding Genting Dream for a ship tour of the luxury 18-deck
vessel. The ceremony, held in the ship’s 999-seat Zodiac Theatre, was followed
by a lunch reception. During the ceremony, guests enjoyed a preview of Dream
Cruises’ thrilling signature production show inspired by the hull art of
Genting Dream - “Voyage of a Lover’s Dream”. It is a story of love, hope and
overcoming seemingly impossible boundaries between a mermaid and an astronaut.

Dream Cruises is Genting Hong Kong’s brand
new cruise line catering to the large and rapidly growing high-end market in
Asia. The cruise line offers inspirational luxury delivering the highest level
of guest service and spacious comfort in the region. Thousands of guests
boarded the ship in Mumbai for a 2-night cruise to Colombo followed by a
4-night cruise from Colombo to Singapore.
With the completion
of the official handover ceremony from Meyer Werft shipyard to Dream Cruises on
12 October 2016, Genting Dream, the first ship of the fleet, began her epic
ocean voyage from Germany to Gibraltar, through the Mediterranean Sea and the
Suez Canal and finally across the Indian Ocean to Mumbai. From here she is now
bound for her dual
homeports of Hong Kong and Guangzhou (Nansha) to prepare for her official
maiden voyage on 13 November 2016. Genting
Dream will debut her maiden cruise itinerary offering Vietnam destination
experiences.
Genting Dream is equipped to accommodate
3,400 guests, attended by 2,000 crew members, forming the leading crew-to-guest
ratio in Asia-based cruising. Accommodation on board Genting Dream reflects
both size and choice for guests with over 70 per cent of staterooms featuring
private balconies and over 100 connecting rooms catering to extended families
and groups. Another unique illustration of ultimate luxury on Genting Dream is
‘Dream Palace’, a ‘ship-within-a-ship’ with lavish suites featuring
European-style butler service and special guest privileges.
Foodies will delight in an eclectic array
of over 35 restaurant and bar concepts where they can indulge in the very best
of Chinese regional, Asian and international cuisine, with an emphasis on
quality and authenticity. The ship also features a 610-metre wraparound
promenade which allows for dramatic sea-side dining and lounging from
sunrise-to-sunset in a multitude of themed venues.
Internationally-acclaimed Australian chef
Mark Best, who is among a distinguished few to achieve 19/20 in the Good Food
Guide published by the Sydney Morning Herald, brings culinary artistry to the
table for discerning diners through his very first restaurant at sea -- “Bistro
by Mark Best”.
Guests can indulge their passion for the
finer things in life at the world’s first JOHNNIE WALKER HOUSE at sea which
serves as an exclusive embassy for luxury Scotch whisky and is a place for
consumers to discover the rich heritage of Scotch whisky.
Dream Cruises has designed and curated a
remarkable programme of interactive guest activities and experiences which are
presented by a portfolio of world-class speakers, who enthuse and inspire
guests with their expertise and passion for their specialist subjects. The
programme features epic stories from award-winning travel photographers and
iconic explorers of land, sea and space.
Many exciting entertainment options onboard
Genting Dream include legendary Singaporean nightspot Zouk, renowned for
hosting the edgiest parties in Asia, which will bring its unforgettable parties
to sea for the first time. Entertainment under the sea is also possible with
two state-of-the-art submersibles on board.
In addition, a plethora of past times are
on offer including swimming pools, six water slides, play rooms, a rock
climbing wall, and mini-golf. A full complement of health and well-being
facilities further enhance the guest experience including the largest Asian reflexology
