Fortis Hospital and EzyMov launches 'Clinic on Wheels,' a first of its kind Mobile Clinic for Senior Citizens

~ Senior citizens of Thane and Mulund to benefit from this initiative, a free of cost service at their doorstep ~

Mulund, Mumbai, 22nd August, 2017: A team of doctors and staff at Fortis Hospital, Mulund launched ‘Clinic on Wheels' at Wamanrao Munjaran Vidyalaya Complex, Mulund, today. The Clinic on Wheels is set to provide free OPD services and medical consultation to all senior citizens. It will remain on-call from 7am to 7 PM for six days in a week. Services provided at this clinic include ECG check, Random Blood Sugar check and Blood Pressure check. The mobile clinic, manned by a trained team of a Geriatrician and a nurse is also equipped with Oxygen support which is vital during emergencies. It also wheelchair enabled for patients with special needs. The initiative is spearheaded by Dr Srinivas Thakur, Geriatrician, Fortis Hospital, Mulund.

Along with the Fortis team, the event was graced by guest of honor Mr Thawar Chand Gehlot, Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of Maharashtra along with Dr Kirit Somaiya, Member of Parliament, Hon. Neil Somaiya, Corporator-Ward No. 108 and Dr Medha Somaiya, General Secretary, Yuva Pratishthan. Senior management of Fortis Dr S. Narayani, Zonal Director, Fortis Hospital, Mulund and Dr. Hiren Ambegoankar, Regional Medical Director, Fortis Healthcare, also graced the occasion. 

Speaking about the initiative, Dr Srinivas Thakur said, “It is imperative that we, as a society at large, are responsible for well-being of our elders. This initiative is an attempt to reach out to elders who may need medical care within comfort of their home. Our trained team are capable and will provide best possible medical care to the senior citizens of the region.”

Talking about the initiate, Dr S. Narayani, Zonal Director, Fortis Hospital, Mulund, said, “With this service, our friends in the community will be able to avail healthcare services at their doorstep. We hope to be able to serve as many senior citizens as we can, with the free service.”
