SATYA PAUL AND ELLI AVRAM LAUNCH THE BRAND’S PHILANTHROPIC EDUCATION PROGRAMME: YOU + ME = EDUCATION
New Delhi, 28 September, 2015 - Satya Paul is proud to announce the launch of its new
Corporate Social Responsibility programme You + Me = Education this fall. Kis Kis Ko Pyaar
Karun actress Elli Avram was seen showing her support at to this initiative by the brand. The
programme is dedicated to realize the untapped potential of India's children with a promise to
empower and to recognize them as a major resource with the belief that giving education is a
gift of ensuring a bright future for a child.
With this initiative the brand offers its customers an opportunity to partake in the noble cause
of educating a child through a small donation while they shop at select brand stores. With
each transaction Rs.10 (by consent of the customer) is added on the purchase invoice. The
total amount collected from customers is matched equally by Satya Paul. The collective fund
is donated to Light Of Life Trust (LOLT), a non-governmental organization with a vision to
transform the lives of underprivileged rural communities.
Through this exclusive partnership with LOLT, Satya Paul aims at reinstating and sustaining
dropouts in school and equipping them with skills to live in mainstream society. These funds
help first generation learners receive support and guidance to break out of the vicious circle of
poverty and illiteracy. For every Rs.8, 400 donated to the organization, it aids the holistic
education and nutrition for a child for an entire year.
“The initiative is a milestone in Satya Paul’s mission to help hundreds of children who do not
have access to basic education, which is the birth right of every child we believe” adds Sanjay
Kapoor, Managing Director, Genesis Group. The initiative was launched celebrating the
brand’s 30 years in the industry and by redefining its design ethos with a second collection co
designed by celebrity style icon Gauri Khan.
“It’s a great initiative by Satya Paul in encouraging education, which should be a priority for
India. I hope other corporate brands follow this example,” said Elli Avram.
The corner stone of this initiative, You and Me, i.e. the customer and brand, is that together
we can contribute in small measures and give back to society.
The major goal of the partnership is to shed light on the continuing plight of our country’s
education crisis and to raise awareness.
Satya Paul has always held CSR close to the brand’s ethos and contributed to several
causes such the Breast Cancer Awareness initiative through its ‘Think Pink’ campaign, the
World Wild Fund for Nature through its WWF Collection’s proceeds going to the cause of
preserving endangered species, and also by contributing to the animal shelter Friendicoes
over the years. You + Me is the latest initiative in the brand’s CSR programs.
The campaign was initiated by a young student Simran Gehani who interned at SP corporate
and spearheaded this project. Her devotion to the cause enabled to facilitate the liaison
between Genesis and LOLT that led to this realization of this endearing cause.
