National, July 26, 2016
NDTV in partnership with Fortis Healthcare, one of India’s leading healthcare provider launched the ‘More To Give’ campaign on the occasion of Kargil Diwas today (July 26). The nationwide campaign is aimed at sensitizing people as well as encouraging them to pledge their organs in an effort to positively impact the well-being of the nation.
NDTV & Fortis along with campaign ambassador Irrfan Khan launched the campaign with a panel discussion moderated by Vikram Chandra, Group CEO, NDTV and included eminent panelists,Dr. Prannoy Roy, Founder & Executive Co-Chairperson, NDTV; Mr. Malvinder Mohan Singh, Executive Chairman, Fortis Healthcare; Mr. Bhavdeep Singh, CEO, Fortis Healthcare; Dr. Avnish Seth, Director, Fortis Organ Retrieval & Transplant, Fortis Healthcare; Dr. K R Balakrishnan, Director, Cardiac Sciences & Chief Cardiothoracic Surgeon, Fortis Malar Hospital, Chennai; Mr. Y Puran Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police, Gurgaon; Dr. Vimal Bhandari, Director, National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO); Dr. Aarti Vij, All India Institute of Medical Sciences
The cause of Organ Donation has not yet received the prominence it deserves. Each year thousands of people in our Country die while waiting for a transplant because no suitable donor can be found. The NDTV Fortis ‘More To Give’ campaign will help in addressing the lack of awareness and some of the mis-perceptions that hinder organ donation.
Announcing the initiative, Vikram Chandra, Group CEO, New Delhi Television, said, “NDTV is excited to partner the More To Give campaign. Through this campaign we hope to inspire more people in the country to register as organ donors as each one of us has more to give than we realize and it is time to make a difference.”

Campaign AmbassadorIrrfan Khan said, “On Kargil Divas we salute the spirit of all the countrymen who have fought and are fighting for our nation without caring for their lives. I am proud to be associated with the NDTV Fortis More To Give organ donation initiative as it encourages people to pledge their support to saving many more lives and enable many generations to come. I would urge all fellow Indian’s to support the cause and pledge to donate their organs.”
Whole heartedly supporting the initiative, Mr. Malvinder Mohan Singh, Executive Chairman, Fortis Healthcare stated that, “The ‘More to Give’ campaign is critical for a country like ours as very little is known about organ donation and the many lives it can save. We are seeking a cultural change that will elevate the cause of organ donation and position it as one of the greatest self-less acts by an individual that could give a fresh lease of life to a number of terminally ill patients. A gracious gift to make, even in ones passing. The objective of this campaign is to create widespread awareness and encourage more and more people to register as organ donors as each one of us has the power to give and save lives.”
