TTK Prestige’s ‘Hobtop’ wins Silver at USA’s ‘International Design Excellence Award’

Bangalore, August 24, 2016: TTK Prestige, India’s largest kitchen appliance brand, has won the “Silver” award for its ‘Hobtop’ at the prestigious ‘International Design Excellence Award’ (IDEA) in the USA. The winning entry was judged based on innovation, benefit to users and aesthetics, by a panel of internationally renowned design experts. TTK Prestige’s ‘Hobtop’, which beat 1,700 projects submitted from 30 countries across the world, will be added as a permanent exhibit at The Henry Ford Museum in Michigan, USA.
Specially commissioned by TTK Prestige, the ‘Hobtop’ has been designed by Dyutiman Moulik of INCUE, a Bangalore based design practice. The product, built with superior burners from SABAF , Italy was designed and developed specifically for Indian cooking habits.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Dinesh Garg, Senior Vice President – Appliances at TTK Prestige Limited said, “We are thrilled to receive this award. It is a great honor to be recognized globally for design, aesthetics and performance from amongst some of the best names in the world.”
Hobtop is a four-burner gas cooking appliance which after purchase, can be used either as a freestanding cooktop or installed as built-in hob as per user's preference. It is the first and only solution offered in the Indian market to be used as a product compatible for both kinds of installation. Compared to any existing burner in the market, the Hobtop's burners are designed for over 70% thermal efficiency, with 50% reduction in carbon emissions. It also uses significantly less but better components for manufacturing and assembly.
TTK Prestige shares this top honor alongside brands like Google, Samsung, Dell and Rolls-Royce.
